Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-11-07
This policy explains what personal information Jewish Lost Assets ("we", "us") collects, why, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We collect as little as we need and we never sell personal information.
Who we are
Jewish Lost Assets is operated by WinJobs Ltd, Hagefen 6, Tel Aviv, Israel. Email: info@jlostassets.org. WinJobs Ltd is responsible for the personal information described here (the "controller").
Information you send us through the inquiry form
When you ask us to search, you give us your name and email address, your role (for example family member or attorney), your country, details about the relative who bought land (names, place of residence, approximate year), information about your family and the family story, whether the relative perished in the Holocaust (optional), and any documents you choose to attach.
We use this information only to handle your inquiry: to search the relevant records, to contact you about it, and, if documents are found, to send you a preliminary summary and a quote. Our legal basis is your request (steps taken at your request before a possible agreement) and, for information that may reveal religious or ethnic background, your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
The inquiry is delivered by email to our team's mailbox and you receive an automatic confirmation. Our website keeps only an anonymous count of inquiries (date, role, country and number of attachments) for our own statistics. It does not keep your name, email address or story.
Professional contacts (attorneys, notaries and organisations)
We may write to estate and succession professionals and to Jewish community organisations whose work relates to our service. For this we use only professional contact details that they have published themselves on public professional sources, such as a firm's website or a professional directory: name, firm or organisation, professional email address, country, and the address of the page where we found the details.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in telling relevant professionals about a service that can help their clients or members. We send one email and at most one short follow-up. Every email tells you where we found your address and how to opt out. If you reply "no thanks" or ask us to stop, we will not write again.
We use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, to find public professional contact details and to prepare drafts. A person on our team reviews every email before it is sent.
Who else handles the information
- Hosting and email: our website and our mail server run on servers of our hosting provider, OVH, located in the European Union.
- Our team: the specialists in Israel who handle inquiries. The European Commission recognises Israel as providing an adequate level of data protection.
- Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser's IP address is sent to Google when a page loads.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics tools that track individual visitors.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries: while we handle your request, and then for up to 3 years, unless the law requires longer or you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Professional contacts: up to 24 months after our last email. If you ask us not to contact you, we keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list, so that we never write to you again.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, and you can ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict its use or move it to someone else. You can also object to our use of it at any time. If you object to receiving emails from us, we will stop. To use any of these rights, write to info@jlostassets.org. We reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the EU, the authority in your country; in the UK, the ICO; in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority.
Security
Our website and email use encrypted connections, and access to inquiries is limited to the people who handle them.
Children
Our service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
